While having a baby means I have much less time on my hands, now more than ever, I feel it’s important to look after my skin. I still take the time to cleanse, tone, apply serum, moisturiser and eye cream in the evening. If I’m feeling extra vigilant I also slot in a night oil before my serum. With less sleep, roller-coaster hormones and a constant craving for sugar (thanks, breastfeeding!), I find if I don’t stick to a strict beauty routine, my skin looks dull and often breaks out. But make-up is another story. Having my daughter more often than not curled up for a cuddle near my face, I prefer not to wear too much as I don’t like it rubbing off on to her sensitive skin. So where make-up is concerned, the key is to keep it simple. Most mornings I start with my usual cleanse, tone and serum, then I use a BB cream or tinted moisturiser. Some concealer and a brush of bronzer complete my basic look. But I don’t leave the house without mascara, and I like a touch of blush to give me rosy cheeks – and that’s it!
