Safe haven

If you’re interested in a holistic approach to parenting, which combines yoga with education, try the Baby & Toddler Yoga Retreat at Emirates Park Zoo in Abu Dhabi on February 10. Mum and baby yoga sessions will help you relax, release tension and work on core strengthening, while the educational sessions will create a positive, supportive environment in which you can learn how to feel confident trusting your natural parenting instincts. Classes will cover babies’ sleep needs, brain development and psychology,

providing you with tools for connecting with your children and teaching you new techniques for calming and reassuring them – so you’ll feel more prepared for dealing with the usual baby and toddler issues, such as tantrums and meltdowns, in a non-confrontational way. Retreats start at Dh1,800 for a family of two adults and one child, including all meals and accommodation, use of the pool and unlimited entrance to the zoo. See www.yogaretreats.ae.
