Cool Skin Calling - Our Girl About Town checks out the new skincare offerings from Kiehl’s
I had suffered from problematic skin all the way through my 20’s so never really ventured outside of the ‘clinical’ acne skincare ranges. Because of this, I was not too familiar with Kiehl’s so I made time to do a bit of research on the brand before attending their event.
I discovered Kiehl’s is an American cosmetics brand retailer that specialises in making premium skin, hair, and body care products. Impressively founded as just a single pharmacy at Third Avenue and East 13th Street in 1851 in Manhatten, New York, it has grown in reputation and quality ever since, into the high-end, globally-celebrated skincare brand that it is today.
The Media One Dubai seems to keep pulling more levels out of the bag. I had not heard of Level 40 before and, just like the hotel’s other event floors, its stylish and simple open concrete space was optimised to create an urban, yet sophisticated, black and white set-up. This was accompanied by music from a local DJ, playing a wide spectrum of house music – good enough to get me shaking a tail feather to. I was impressed!
The edgy New York styled evening had a great atmosphere and I even managed a quick chat with some of the Kiehl’s team, who were obviously very passionate and informative about their superb brand and their offerings. It was great to rub shoulders with Dubai’s media and blogger community, in between nibbling on some tasty bites and refreshments.
The bottom line (or wrinkle?) of it was, I was in skincare heaven with the abeauty tips and information on offer. I can only liken myself to that of a kid in a candy shop when presented with my goody bag at the end of the night, which was full to the brim with full-size samples to take home with me!
Since then, I have washed, cleansed and moisturised my face and body with Kiehl’s products every day and I’m sure I’m looking 10 years younger!
