All things food

The best of British

The Lakes’ popular gastro-pub Reform Social & Grill is offering a special menu celebrating the best of British produce, to coincide with Dubai Food Festival. Starting on February 28 and running until March 9, the Great British Banquet
five-course tasting menu will feature favourites from all corners of Great Britain. You’ll start with a roasted root vegetable soup, followed by seared scallops, then tuck into grilled Scottish salmon. Next up is roast duck breast and, of course, the meal is rounded off with the sinfully sweet classic of sticky toffee pudding. Grab a table out on the terrace in the hopes it might be chilly enough to remind you of British weather! The tasting menu is priced at Dh230 per person and is available from 6pm-10pm, 04 454 2638

Room with a view

For a peaceful weekend café experience with a difference, put The Terrace at Dubai Creek Harbour into your satnav and wind your way through the wilds of Ras Al Khor. You’ll find gourmet food trucks offering a selection of eats and drinks from Vida Hotels, a kids’ entertainment area and simply breathtaking views of the city. Open 10am-10pm, Friday and Saturday only,

Keeping it local

The Dubai Mall is celebrating the best of local talent with the opening of a new pop-up boutique. Stocking the work of a range of talented local designers, the focus of the Dubai971 store changes every two months and includes fashion, accessories, home wares and more. The current edition – available until February 16 – is fashion and you can pick up pieces from local labels such as Mochi, Amongst Few, House of Fatam, Reemami, Osaymi and Elena Burba. You’ll find Dubai971 in The Village on the ground floor of the mall.
