Dinner with a view
Where Pure Sky Lounge, Hilton Dubai The Walk, JBR
When Fridays, 5.30pm-9pm
The low-down At last, a brunch that puts the focus back on the food – although the gorgeous views alone would be enough to entice. Fourteen courses are served at your table, sharing-style, all with unique touches, but the highlight has to be the teriyaki chicken wings, smoked to perfection in house. This is not a ‘party brunch’, but would be lovely for date nights or a night out with the girls. Be sure to get there in time to see the sunset!

Where Favela Chic, Spirito, Media One
When Fridays, 8pm-12pm
The low-down Less favela, more Rio chic; think dancers in elaborately feathered costumes, Brazilian samba beats and quality food and drinks. Table service is impeccable and staff insights into the menu are handy for non-Portuguese speakers. Appropriately for a South American-themed restaurant, the rump cap picanha steak – served with an exquisite mango salsa – is a must-have.
