  • Fright night!

It’s the creepiest night of the year and there’s plenty on around town to celebrate. First up, we’ll need an outfit for the occasion so we’ll be heading down to Mr Ben’s Costume Closet (04 346 3494), where we’ll have the choice of dressing up as anything from a superhero to a Smurf. For the smaller family members we’ll pop into Mamas and Papas ( to check out its new Halloween range – we love this super-cute little skeleton suit!

We’ll need tip-top talons to go with our outfits; there’s a special edition Halloween range from OPI, available at Sephora ( and Wojooh ( It’ll be hard to choose from the ghostly white, the vampish black and the fetching pumpkin hue (Dh49 each).

We’re always up for a bit of a (trick or) treat so our capital-dwellers will be heading to the Halloween-with-a-difference pool brunch on October 30 from 1-4pm at PJ O’Reilly’s (02 695 0530), while those of us in Dubai will be off to boutique beach club Riva (04 430 9466) from 7pm on October 31 to sample deliciously wicked-sounding dishes such as Witch’s brew and Black ravioli in blood sauce. For a sweet treat, we’ll be ordering some of these scarily delicious cookies (Dh10 each) from baking delivery gurus SugarMoo.

Then, to finish off our Halloween-fest in style, we’ll take our pick of the best parties in town on Halloween night. Top invites on our list include Shades, The Address Dubai Marina (04 436 7777), the funky Twisted Angels good-versus-evil bash at Cielo, Dubai Creek Yacht Club (04 416 1800) and the spooktastic Garden of Sin at Vii, The Conrad, SZR (050 169 6777).
