First up, we’ll need to be looking our best for any hot dates we might be going on, so we’ll be hotfooting it to a branch of The White Room where we’ll get our talons perfectly polished in bold red or romantic pink from the Ciate collection.

For a spot of retail therapy we’ll be visiting Bloomingdale’s in The Dubai Mall ( for these uber-romantic Three Floor dresses that are sure to have his jaw hitting the floor on the big night. Or, for something more comfy but still sexy and stylish, there’s the beautifully floaty new range of hareem pants, tops and dresses from local threadmaker My Mummy And Me with pieces starting from Dh120 (050 718 4508).

We’ll be directing potential gift-buyers to American Eagle to choose some oh-so-pretty lingerie from the latest Aerie collection ( or to Diptyque for one of its limited-edition solid perfumes and candles.

If he’s late for the date, we’ll download the Love Test: Compatibility Calculator (free on the App Store) and work out whether he really is worth waiting for – or if we should make a dash for it!

So the whole family can share in the love, we’ll be hitting the kitchen with our little ones to help bake heart-shaped cookies; these super-cute cutters are just Dh30 from Lakeland.

And for another little treat, we’ll be picking up a box of these delightfully kitsch Valentine’s chocolates from artisan chocolatier Cocosia ( It may be the season of love, but there’s no way we’re sharing...
