Dine out

This month we’re reliving our teens

We’re treating August like the summer of ’69 (or ’79, ’89, ’99, or even ’09) for a nostalgic return to the best days of our life

  • Spice Girls.

We’ll start off our morning with a breakfast fit for a teen at Baker & Spice in Souk Al Bahar (04 425 2240), where we’ll indulge in a stack of blueberry pancakes with whipped mascarpone (Dh40).

Then we’ll pop on over to N Bar at City Walk to check out its Twinkle Toes (and fingers) treatment for a glittery mani-pedi worthy of our Spice Girls days (crystal embellishments from Dh15, 04 339 4801). We’ll raise the bar by heading to The Dubai Mall for some 80s- and 90-s style retail therapy.

It wouldn’t be a day of fun without paying a visit to Ski Dubai (04 409 4000) where we’ll fly down slopes in tubes or transparent orbs and enjoy a hot chocolate complete with M&Ms. We’ll then throw caution to the wind – but not too much caution – at Ifly (04 231 6292) where we can check skydiving off our bucket list (kind of).

We’ll get a well-deserved meal after our fun-packed day with dinner at Aprons & Hammers, JBR (04 456 7888) where it’s socially acceptable
to play with your food.
