It’s been a while since you last did your own tour. What prompted this one? Excited, nervous, any other feelings?

MEL: We are so excited to be back on the road performing all our old hits, plus songs from our new album. It’s crazy to think we never performed songs like Pure Shores on our own tour before! It’s great meeting the people who like our music and
it’s really just been fun hanging out together.

Your new album Red Flag has been doing really well since its release, with some critics saying it’s your best work yet. What inspired the album and are you proud of it?

SHAZNAY: The album was inspired by everything we’ve been through over the past few years; the ups and downs of relationships and family life, and even about losing dear friends. We’re all really proud of it – it’s an honest record that really represents where we are in our lives. It’s been amazing seeing everyone’s feedback to it.

Are you hoping Red Flag will prompt a Take That-style rebirth and world domination?

NATALIE: That was never our intention really. We just wanted to get out and do some more shows, and just spend time together as friends, which is what we’ve done and we’re loving every minute.

Have you been to Dubai before? And if not, what are you expecting it to be like?

NICOLE: A few of us have visited and absolutely love it! Mel’s even done a DJ set there before, which was really fun.

What do you plan to do here? And what are you looking forward to the most?

MEL: On top of shopping and eating, we definitely want to spend some time in the sun by the pool. The weather’s taken a turn for the worse in the UK so it’ll be a nice break!

What can Dubai fans expect at the gig? Red Flag, old favourites, anything else?

NATALIE: Oh, it’ll be a lot of the old stuff including Never Ever and Pure Shores, plus some of our favourites from the new album Red Flag. And we may throw some surprises in there too.

October 28, Autism Rocks Arena, Dubai Outlet Mall.
