Close aquatic encounters

Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo has unveiled its new interactive experiences, with three kinds of animal encounters for you to choose from. Guests will have an opportunity to get up close and personal with the animals while learning all about them. Choose from the Otter Encounter, Ray Encounter and Crocodile Encounter, and give your little ones an educational treat! Book online in advance as space is limited. It’s daily, every hour from 11am-10pm, Dh200 per person.


Marina mammoth

Young fans of the natural world will love the new permanent exhibition in the capital. Marina Mall in Abu Dhabi recently welcomed a new arrival; a 15,000-year-old woolly mammoth fossilised skeleton. The attraction offers a unique opportunity to take a peek into history and learn about how these enormous animals lived – from what they looked like and where they roamed to what they ate and even what might have happened to cause their extinction. Fascinating stuff!

Disney in Concert: Frozen

Flash Entertainment presents a unique orchestral take on Frozen with the UAE National Symphony Orchestra, made up of 76 different musical instruments and performers. The show, on at du Forum Abu Dhabi from February 12-20, will follow the storyline of the much-loved film, featuring its captivating songs. Theatre for kids


Smash-hit children’s stage show We’re Going On a Bear Hunt is coming to the UAE on March 1-4 at Madinat Theatre and March 7 at Abu Dhabi Theatre. The show, based on Michael Rosen’s award-winning book about a father and his four children encountering a real bear on their annual bear hunt, includes plenty of audience participation to make for a lively experience.
