September kicks off with two nostalgia-packed food options – there’s the Great British Road Trip brunch at Reform, where we’ll take a taste tour down memory lane in the form of childhood favourites like toad-in-the-hole and ice-cream-parlour treats (Dh260-Dh405, from September 16). Or there’s the Yalumba ‘Wow that’s what I call brunch’, featuring performances by 90s icons Chesney Hawkes, No Mercy and Rozalla on Friday, September 2. With a line-up like that we’ll want to look our retro-best, so we’ll be aiming for 90s-supermodel-style beauty with the Kate Moss make-up collection from Rimmel, including this Muse-red lipstick (Dh45) and sculpting kit (Dh52). Razor-sharp cheekbones here we come!

After all that indulgence we’ll want a bit of TLC, so we’ll be slathering ourselves in the nostalgic scent of Summer Marshmallow body lotion by Bath & Bodyworks. We’ll also be in need of a health kick, so we’ll be sipping our smoothies from this top-of-the-class alphabet tumbler by Kate Spade (Dh100) and ordering the playful Mr Men series of sushi from SushiArt (Dh195 per box, – delicious enough to satisfy even Mr Greedy!

Now that the worst of the summer is over, we’ve got some visitors lined up, so we’ll channel an old-school family holiday vibe and send them on a classic Dubai sightseeing tour – The Yellow Boats has just teamed up with City Sightseeing to offer a combination ticket, so your guests can see landmarks by land and water (Dh340).

And finally, for a nostalgia-packed Eid al Adha gift we’ll be snapping up an advance Annual Pass to Motiongate Dubai, so we’ll get a sneak peek of rides like The Smurfs and other movie-inspired attractions ahead of the park’s official opening on October 31 (Dh865,
