Week 9, day 1
This week is turning out to be really busy already. I’m soon to take off to visit my best friend who left Dubai in August – that’s when it the reality of what had happened started to dawn on me and my body couldn’t handle the stress anymore, so I ended up with my digestive system wrecked. She always took care of me, even when she didn’t know it… she’s very supportive and always pushes me to be the best I can be. I admit that when she left, she left a void which affected me deeply in a time I was still very vulnerable. So preparations are in effect with a plan to cook for her and her family (I also plan to cook for my family when I go for a visit soon as well – my cooking books and websites are ready and I’m set!).
Having said that, today I prepared myself roasted pumpkin with rocket salad, feta cheese and grilled chicken… Just yummy and done with a conscious mind! Later, dinner at one of my favorite restaurants in Abu Dhabi, Chama at Abu Dhabi InterContinental Hotel. The menu at the Brazilian churrascaria restaurant is a meat-based one. For those unfamiliar with the churrascaria style of service, a quick précis: diners are provided with a plate and a mat for signaling waiters – green on one side, meaning "Bring it on!", red on the other, meaning "Make it stop!”… it’s a challenge to turn it to the red side, trust me!
Week 9, day 2
I started taking professional kick boxing classes. I forgot how fun performance training used to be and I admit the gym can get boring if you are doing the same routine all the time. That’s why you need to spice things up. My trainer is happy with my performance so far and says I’m a fast learner… who knows, I might be the next UAE champ, watch this space!!
Next on my fitness agenda is Marshal Arts training and dancing, plus my normal gym routine… I vowed that when I start, I shall never stop – and I have started.
