Tal tries... Kult Fitness

What is it? Kult Fitness combines the benefits of kettlebell training with a high-intensity cardio workout to help build muscle, burn fat and increase endurance.

Tal’s take on it: I was a little intimidated by the kettlebells when I arrived. However, Martine (owner and instructor) was reassuring and enthusiastic, and put me at ease. We began with a light warm-up, followed by five kettlebell routines. I chose a light kettlebell but went heavier when I realised I could swing the weight; one of the pluses is that you can go at your own pace. With the explosive swinging and squats, my heart rate was up and the burn was on. It was the perfect combination of cardio and strength training. In between the kettlebell routines we did some Tabata routines – high-intensity intervals of training. Before I knew it, class was over. This is definitely a fun and effective workout.
