Sinless snacks

Don’t be fooled by their stickily sinful appearance – these brownies are all about clean eating. They’re gluten free, dairy free, free of refined sugar and made from all-natural ingredients – just like all of the delicious treats from the newly launched Snack Society. Dubai resident Kamilla Omarzay started the brand after she went gluten and dairy free and found it hard to find affordable, tasty snacks. Six brownies cost Dh30, while eight raw peanut butter balls are Dh50, and there are treats suitable for coeliacs. Contact 050 525 5175 or

On pointe

For an exercise class to keep you on your toes, skip along to Adagio Dance studio in Barsha Heights (Tecom), founded by Nashwa Hamad, the first Emirati to open a dance studio in Dubai. Offering adult and child ballet classes, as well as belly dancing, salsa, Booty Circuit and aerial arts (hoop, pole and silks), it doesn’t differentiate between dance as an art and dance as a fitness regime, meaning it is open for everyone to come and get fit! 04 513 5656

Get the waist you’ve always wanted!

We can’t wait to try out the latest quick fat-buster in the form of ReduStim, a device used by the medical community to eliminate subcutaneous fat as well as the visceral fat responsible for certain cardiovascular diseases, cancers and infertility (with the helpful side effect that it will also erase that spare tyre around your tummy!). Combining pressure therapy and biomagnetic fields to stimulate the release of abdominal fat, it is non-invasive, pain free and offers an average loss of 6cm on the waistline in six hours. Twelve sessions are recommended. Prices range from Dh450-Dh650, and

Herbal HRT

There’s a natural alternative to the hormone replacement therapy many women choose to use as they near the menopause, according to the National Institute of Medical Herbalists (NIMH). Many medicinal herbs and foods contain ‘phyto-oestrogens’ that can be used to enhance the body’s hormonal status. These phyto-oestrogens provide the body with the starting point for manufacturing its own hormones, helping to balance fluctuating hormonal levels.

Train like a celeb

Luxury personal training brand ICAN PT – known for training celebs and sports stars in the UK – has opened its first studio in Dubai in JLT. Employing a highly personalised training method to produce visible results, ICAN provides a mix of cardio, strength and movement delivered by a charismatic and highly trained team, plus a whole host of five-star touches such as valet parking, special ‘green goodness juices’, salon-standard hairdryers, Egyptian cotton towels, and complimentary Fiji water and Molton Brown products, as well as the ICAN nutritional service. You can opt for 30-day packages, or four-, eight- or
12 month packages, or VIP blocks of 100 sessions.

Fit fashion

Loud legs

We can’t get enough of the trend for highly patterned and brightly coloured fitness leggings, and we’re in love with some of the options available on, including these psychedelic tights from Adidas Originals (Dh155) and these geometric-print ones from Only Play (Dh159).

Sculpting swimwear

Speedo’s Sculpture range features elegant designs coupled with a range of bold prints, for the ultimate in figure-flattering swimwear. Each piece is tested in the pool for up to 40 hours, for guaranteed quality control and they all have adjustable, non-slip straps and are made from a super-comfy lightweight lycra – we love these brightly coloured designs (Dh295 left and Dh325 right).
