“Because we had lived in lots of different countries we wanted our wedding to be an international celebration and include elements from all the places that have a significant meaning for us – Sweden, the US, the UK and the UAE.
“We had a special country theme for each event during the wedding weekend. On Friday evening we had an Arabian-themed party. The wedding ceremony on Saturday morning symbolised our Swedish roots, which was followed by a very English champagne reception with high tea and, later that day, there was a French-themed dinner party. We ended with an American-style brunch on Sunday morning.
“The largest expense for us was renting the venue and paying for all guests’ accommodation.”
They wore: “I wore a couture dress from the famous designer Ines Di Santo consisting of two different dresses in one: one to suit the wedding ceremony and one for the dinner and party. My husband wore a traditional morning suit for the wedding ceremony and white tie for the evening – both bought in Sweden.”
The bridesmaids: “Long blush pink dresses from twobirdsbridesmaid.com.”
The flowers: “Flowers were about Dh30,000-40,000.”
The photographer: “We chose One and Only Paris Photography – they photographed Friday evening and all day Saturday (8am to midnight) for approximately Dh60,000-70,000.”
