“After looking at multiple venues without much success, we finally stumbled across this one. We had been there for lunch a few times and a friend said they held outdoor events. When we went to have a look we loved it instantly.
“We didn’t have a huge budget, but I’m happy to say we only went marginally over it. This was helped by making and designing many of the decorations ourselves, such as banners, the table plan and centrepieces.
“I hired a traditional Irish dancing group to surprise my husband and our guests. It wasn’t technically in the budget but seeing the look on his face when they arrived and started performing was worth every penny.”
They wore: “I wore a very simple V-neck dress with pearl broach. It was from a shop in my home town and cost Dh4,845 with the veil. Stephen wore a brown suit with matching waistcoat and a white shirt. His outfit was tailored in Oud Metha for approx Dh500.”
The venue: “We spent Dh65,000 on the venue, including hire, food and drink, plus a room for us on the wedding night. We couldn’t recommend the venue highly enough – they bent over backwards for us and the food was amazing.”
The photographer: “We used Chloe Lodge and we loved her instantly. We love our photos and couldn’t imagine anyone else capturing our day. She charged Dh10,000.”
