“We were looking for a venue with enough space to build tepees for our reception and also to host our blessing. We wanted somewhere intimate and private with lots of greenery and minimal construction. Also, it had to be a venue we were familiar with, offering great-quality food and service. The Address Montgomerie ticked all these boxes and more.
“Our theme centered on our favourite colour, teal, some fun Halloween elements (the day our ceremony took place) and our combined love of travel – especially as Jerry is a pilot. So we included Halloween-style props in our photo booth (which was brilliant fun) and our table plan was a world map with luggage tags carrying guests’ names.
“Our budget was Dh150,000 but we went slightly over.”
They wore: “I wore tailor-made wedding dress designed by Susanna Rachel Bridal Couture. It cost Dh14,000 and was worth every dirham. Jerry wore his family tartan. His waistcoat, shirt and tie were all from Debenhams and they cost Dh500.”
The bridesmaids: “They wore dresses from Monsoon, tailored in Satwa. Each dress with tailoring cost Dh650.”
The venue: “The reception for 85 cost Dh75,000, including food and some beverages.”
The photographer: “We used Liz JVR Photography, who charged Dh9,000, including a two-hour engagement photo shoot prior to the wedding.”
The flowers: “These were from Event Boutique and cost Dh7,700 for everything.”
