Week 7, day 2

In the past couple of weeks I have been really busy with work, social life and making sure I exercise regularly, thinking about how it all affects my sleep, I thought of my Philip Stein Sleep Bracelet. Honestly I wore it like twice only before but it’s mainly because I tend to forget to put it on before bed, and the fact that I’m afraid I might ruin it somehow “it looks really stylish”

There may be some who are skeptical to the benefits of a bracelet in aiding sleep, but Philip Stein has carried out Neuro Trials on the Natural Frequency Technology it uses in its bracelets at a sleep lab in Atlanta, Georgia, and says the results were “very promising and encouraging”. That was written in the in-flight magazine of one of the biggest airlines in the world. The article was about Philip Stein watches and sleep bracelets, and it continues on very important facts, that I found:

  • 64% of respondents felt more refreshed in the morning after using both relaxation and sleep bracelets.
  • 43% of respondents said they feel asleep faster after wearing the two bracelets.
  • 43% of respondents also slept for longer after wearing the relaxation and sleep bracelet.

After reading the full article and knowing that Oprah is one of the biggest Philip Stein fans, it’s only fair to say that my sleep bracelet is the first thing I start with when it comes to my going to bed routine “you should put it on half an hour before you sleep” and I don’t know if it’s my workout with my healthy eating habits or the bracelet, for all I know it could be all of them together, what I do know is I sleep soundly and I wake up refreshed to take on another busy day. 

Week 7, day 5

Since Patricia came into my life and I live in peace, and with that Sarah has been more than a great help as well helping me with my new found food intolerances, that I admit at first sort of refused to accept, but once I started following her guideline and advice I feel much better. So with two big areas of my life sorted out, I started concentrating on the fitness area, and to mix up my fitness routine a bit, I remembered how much I enjoyed Boxing before, I tried it once and I more than loved it, it’s a great stress reliever, increases agility and coordination, tones the muscles without adding bulk, and let’s admit it, it’s hot! A total body workout and it is so for me.

I start my session with Adjany from Fitness First, now let me tell a bit about her, Adjany has a small frame and a cute short haircut, when you see her you won’t think she can literally give you a killer workout, so when I saw her earlier last week doing boxing, I asked Vanessa to have some of my PT sessions with her boxing, Vanessa thought it’s a great idea. So starting my session by Vanessa’s voice cheering me to push as hard as I can because she believes I can do it! “She was watching me, and giving some really great motivating lines” after a warm up and half an hour boxing, Adjany made sure I targeted the biggest muscles with a number of other exercises and a good run. Couldn’t say thank you enough to Adjany for a great workout. 

Week 7, day 6

Surprise!! Even though I exercise, I woke up this morning sore!!! But not complaining, it’s the kind of sweet pain that you know is doing you good, and a reminder that it’s good to mix up your routine, to keep your body guessing and keep on working up those ignored muscles. Weak wrists are probably the only thing that might present a problem when it comes to Boxing, however once you learn how to box properly; you shouldn't be putting any unnecessary strain on your wrists. The aim of your punches is also important. Align your punches correctly and your knuckles should feel no pain. You can also wrap them with tape for extra support.

Few notes here for me to take notice of, my wrists are not that strong so my right one hurts the most, but nothing that I can’t take care of and strengthen. 

Week 7, day 7

Vanessa sends me this text “Don’t forget to do your workout, ha”!! she knows I haven’t been able to workout as much as I’d like the past couple of weeks due to super load of work and work stress, so for her to send me a reminder for my workout “WHEN SHE IS OFF” and earlier this week, she sent me a full plan of my workout to do when I’m on my own, I had to reply with I love you for all the effort and support she has shown is truly amazing. Fitness First – Marina Mall Abu Dhabi definitely has a winning staff.
