1. Make-up fixer

OK, so it’s more for your face, but if you happen to want to wear make-up at the beach or at the pool (no judgement here), this can help keep your look in place – Dh140 from Clarins.

2. Shower it on

Lancaster has launched a fab ‘in-shower’ self-tanning solution. Simply prime the skin with its smoothing body scrub and then wash on that tan! Dh105 for the Tan Preparer and Dh115 for the Self-Tan Beauty.

3. Lovely lips

Protect those lips from the sun with this creamy lip protector with SPF20 from Shiseido for Dh140.

4. Get an inner glow

Jergens’ new collections are bringing the heavy guns – they promise skin that is four times brighter and more youthful looking in just four weeks. We are so sold. Check out the BB Body Perfecting Skin Cream and Bright Revival Body cream – both just Dh30 each.

5. Replenish and cool

After a long day in the sun, skin that has been dried out by chlorine or salt needs a bit of TLC. Slather on these rich, luxe creams from Johnson’s for super-soft skin. And at only Dh16 a bottle, you can be generous with it.

6. Yummy skin

Gone are the days when suncream meant smelling like a piña colada and being coated in a thick white layer of cream. These delicious-smelling, non-oily SPF creams from Nuxe offer great protection and sink into the skin. We love the SPF30 and SPF50 face creams for staying safe in the sun while still feeling fresh. Prices start at Dh105.

7. Fresh as a rose

The British Rose collection from Body Shop is made from roses grown organically in the UK. This gel body scrub is perfect for freshening up dull skin and getting a natural glow on. Dh75

8. Safe for all

Safe for use on infants, children and adults, this cream is great for problematic dry skin and promotes healing. Approx Dh80.

9. Spa in a jar!

Elemis products are like a little piece of spa heaven in your home. This lime and ginger salt glow promises smooth, glowing skin and a relaxing spa-worthy aroma to boot. Dh316

10. Jungle treats

Made from organic, herbal infusions from rainforest ingredients, Rahua products look and feel as great as they sound. Dh285

11. Luxe lotion

Whether its perfumes, candles or lotions, Diptyque never fails to deliver. The Do Son range has scents of African orange flower, rose and iris and is the ultimate in post-shower freshness. Dh175

Since the start of this year, Vaniday has found (perhaps somewhat predictably) that manicures, pedicures and blow-dries are our favourite treatments. Since summer has set in, hair treatments are apparently also very popular.

The top spots for massages in Dubai are...

From its bookings, Vaniday reports that there are five major players when it comes to massages. In alphabetical order they are:

3. Dreamworks Spa

4. Hush Spa at Movenpick JLT

5. Sensasia

Vaniday is a free app available on iTunes store that allows you to book salon and spa treatments from your phone without having to talk to anyone. You can search and browse through salons and spas in your area and find the best treatments and appointment times for you.
