What you’ll need

• Old comic books/maps/wrapping paper

• Scissors

• Wallpaper or border adhesive

• An old table that needs a revamp

• 2 paint brushes

• Clear wood varnish

1 Cut your comic books, maps or wrapping paper into strips no larger than the palm of your hand.

2 Place a piece pattern-side down on the table and cover with a thin layer of adhesive. Turn it over, place it and spread another thin layer of adhesive over the top, making sure to keep it wrinkle-free.

3 Repeat these steps until the table is covered.

4 Once dry, use a clean paintbrush to varnish over the top of all the paper pieces.
