Sports chic

Aysheh Gucia, 34, from Jordan, with Sanad, six

“The best thing about being a mum is having a child I love more than myself. I enjoy being his best friend; him telling me that he loves me and that I am the best mum makes me feel happy every single day.”

Sanad: Sweater, Dh95, Zara; Jumper (around waist), Dh95, Zara; Sweatpants, Dh99, Zara; Sneakers, Dh125, Zara; Headphones, stylist’s own.

Stylist’s tip: Sports chic is back for another season – take it to the next level by combining relaxed pieces in clean, classic shapes with dressy accessories.

Pastel power

Lynne Meyer, 38, from South Africa, with Kirsten, seven, and Zachary, five

“Being a mum gives me an excuse to stay young while enjoying love beyond measure. Most of all, I want to teach my little ones to love, believe in and respect themselves and others.”

Stylist’s tip: Sugary pastels are a great way to give your outfit a feminine lift. No matter your skin tone, there’s a candy hue for everyone.

Mono magic

Shalah Azmath, 32, from Sri Lanka, with Selena, 11

“We loved the whole makeover experience, and Selena keeps talking about how much fun it was to do it together. My perfect Mother’s Day this year would be to spend some more quality girly time with my daughter.”

Shalah: Top, Dh195, Zara; Skirt, Dh195, Zara; Heels, Dh379, River Island; Necklace, Dh95, Topshop; Rings (part of a set), Dh95, Topshop.

Stylist’s tip: Whether you go for feminine florals or striking geometric print, a monochrome palette always looks chic. If you’re a pear shape, team with neutral colours on your bottom half, and if you’re curvy use the vertical graphic stripes to your slimming advantage.

Bohemian vibes

Kay Bodanza, 36, from South Africa, with Aurora-Elizabeth, eight months

“I want my daughter to appreciate the simple things in life, and to understand that life is what you make of it. I want to teach her about healthy living, staying grounded, being respectful, having balance and humility.”

Stylist’s tip: Soft and flowing fabrics with romantic prints are a big trend this season. If you’re not girly enough to wear them from head to toe, add accents to your outfit for a touch of femininity.

Fairytale florals

Doaa Tahboub, 33, from Jordan, with Thalia, five

“Being a mum is an honour, a pleasure, and an overwhelming rush of feelings, because it means that you’re responsible for someone else’s success and safety in life.”
