Tracey Morar, 37

Tracey, from Australia, lives in JVT with her husband and two-year-old son. She generally sticks to only a few matching accessories and doesn’t feel confident mixing them up. We showed her how a few choice extras can transform a classic LBD...

Dress, Dh299, Banana Republic; Sandals, Dh519, Kurt Geiger.

Day

Tracey Morar

Sunglasses, Dh60, Aldo; Earrings, Dh39, H&M; Belt, Dh69, H&M; Watch, Dh495, Massimo Dutti; Bag, Dh549, Charles & Keith; Sandals, Dh229, Charles & Keith.

Stylist’s tips

An open-toe flat shoe is the most flattering as that style elongates the leg.

The colour of your accessories doesn’t have to match exactly; they can be tonal and blend together as a complete look.

Sunglasses add a glamorous touch to this chic day outfit.

Earrings, model’s own; Necklace, Dh120, Aldo; Bracelet, Dh160, BCBG Max Azria; Ring, Dh280, BCBG Max Azria; Bag, Dh259, Charles & Keith; Heels, Dh340, Aldo.

Stylist’s tips

Any outfit dripping in diamonds (real or otherwise) is instantly ready for a black-tie event and this timeless combination of red, black and bling never fails. The hexagonal bag feels modern and updates an LBD perfectly.

Sometimes less is more. This on-trend shoulder embellishment should in theory balance out pear-shaped Tracey’s hips and thighs, but it’s too overwhelming with all the fine strands – the outfit needs a chunkier piece.

Nesli Aykilic, 33

German Nesli has lived in Dubai for two years with her husband and son of 13 months. She used to work in political science but is currently a stay-at-home mum who needs clothes that she can easily breastfeed in. This stretchy maxi dress is functional yet flattering to her bust and small waist, and comfortable enough to wear from day, right through to evening.

Dress, Dh450, Banana Republic; Wedges, Dh320, Aldo.

Day

Nesli Aykilic

Hat, Dh149, H&M; Necklace, Dh29, H&M; Belt, Dh79, Banana Republic; Cuff, Dh60, Aldo; Rings (part of a set of 4), Dh69, H&M; Bag, Dh350, Zara; Wedges, Dh350, Zara.

Stylist’s tips

Fringing is a hot trend right now, but don’t go overboard – just one statement accessory is enough to get the look.

You can go a bit crazy with the jewellery though – load up multiple necklaces or rings for an effortless bohemian look.

A belt adds polish to this simple dress, and accentuates Nesli’s hourglass figure.

Nesli Aykilic

Earrings, Dh150, Aldo; Belt, Dh175, Massimo Dutti; Bracelet, Dh39, H&M; Ring (part of a set of 3), Dh69, H&M; Clutch, Dh195, Zara; Sandals, Dh625, Massimo Dutti.

Stylist’s tips

The fringe detail on this clutch works with Nesli’s bohemian vibe, whilst still being suitable for a fun night out.

Refining her accessories for night means Nesli can seamlessly slip from day to evening.

This season it’s all about statement earrings so don’t be afraid to take a risk, as long as you keep your remaining accessories to a minimum.

Tessa Kiernander, 33

British Tessa has been living in Dubai for two years and has a three-year-old son. Tessa says she usually avoids necklaces due to her larger bust and sticks to earrings and bangles instead. We showed her how the right neckline can have a massive impact and transform a simple jeans-and-top combo into a standout outfit.

Top, Dh195, Zara; Jeans, Dh325, Gap; Sneakers, Dh549, Lucca by Kurt Geiger.

Day

Tessa Kiernander

Earrings, Dh150, Aldo; Scarf, Dh50, Aldo Accessories; Watch, Dh675, Massimo Dutti; Rings (part of a set of 3), Dh69, H&M; Sunglasses, Dh60, Aldo; Bag, Dh180, Aldo; Sandals, Dh280, Aldo.

Stylist’s tips

These girlfriend jeans take you from day to night in comfort. They are made from a super-soft stretchy denim and the girlfriend cut allows for a little more room around the thigh, which is perfect for women like Tessa who have an hourglass shape, as well as pear shapes.

If wearing a scarf isn’t for you, then try attaching one to your bag as a way of adding a splash of colour.

The scale of the scarf and bag works well; they complement each other.

Night

Tessa Kiernander

Earrings, Dh150, Aldo; Necklace, Dh115, Zara; Bracelet, Dh39, H&M; Clutch, Dh900, BCBG Max Azria; Heels, Dh380, Aldo.

Stylist’s tips

Tessa looks like a bombshell in these high-voltage heels! A sexy, statement heel is a must when vamping up jeans.

The long necklace takes the eye down the body, which is a really flattering trick for larger busts.

Wrong accessories

Tessa Kiernander

This necklace is the wrong shape as it overlaps the edge of the neckline. Over the course of the day, it will end up hidden underneath the top.

Jennifer Smith, 39

Mum of two boys aged four and eight, South African Jennifer usually opts for jeans and avoids short skirts. We wanted to show her how amazing her long legs can look in the right outfit, whilst still looking age appropriate. Jennifer also finds it hard to find tops that flatter her large bust without making her stomach look big, so we introduced her to semi-fitted tops that she can tuck in to her waistband as an easy way to achieve a flattering look.

Jennifer Smith

Top, Dh49, H&M; Shorts, Dh250, Banana Republic; Sandals, Dh240, Aldo.

Day

Jennifer Smith

Necklace, Dh26, H&M; Sunglasses, Dh60, Aldo; Bracelet, Dh60, Aldo; Watch, Dh675, Massimo Dutti; Bag, Dh180, Aldo; Sandals, Dh229, Charles & Keith.

Stylist’s tips

The mix of stripes here gives a simple look a fun nautical vibe.

Tailored shorts are essential to have in your wardrobe as they’re so versatile.

Because this bag has a lot going on, Jennifer doesn’t need any more jewellery to make this an eye-catching outfit.

Night

Jennifer Smith

Earrings, Dh49, H&M; Necklace, Dh29, H&M; Belt, Dh26, H&M; Ring (part of a set of 3), Dh69, H&M; Clutch, Dh1,204, BCBG Max Azria; Wedges, Dh480, BCBG Max Azria.

Stylist’s tips

It’s a shame to hide legs like Jennifer’s, and shorts are the perfect way to wear something with a high hemline that still looks sophisticated, for an evening event.

This statement clutch adds a fashion-forward element and the wedges add a little glamour.

Wrong accessories

Jennifer Smith

Earrings, Dh49, H&M; Necklace, Dh185, Zara.

These earrings are too long and are fighting with the necklace for attention.
